At Kiss, we were incredibly lucky to stay busy and keep winning new clients this year, despite the global coronavirus pandemic and resultant lockdowns. However, we are well aware that most people across the country (and world) were not so lucky – many businesses suffered or went under, and a huge number of people lost their jobs. As the days count down to Christmas, and we prepare to close our office doors on 2020 for good, we wanted to do a little something to help families who are struggling this winter. And we found the perfect charity to let us do it: Helping Hands.
Helping Hands is a nationwide initiative that focuses on local people helping local people. In other words, it encourages people to give time, money, and effort to their local communities – helping people that live just down the road. It runs charity shops, soup kitchens, and events for the homeless, donates furniture, toys, and more to low-income families, and even helps its volunteers to earn qualifications in areas like food hygiene and management. Helping Hands is a real force for good in local communities all across Britain, and we are proud to be doing our part to help it help our neighbours. But how are we helping?
In our final workweek this year, we packed Managing Director Emma George off to town to buy toys and gifts for local children. Why did we send the boss? Well, as both a mum and a marathon-running charity fundraiser, we thought she had the right mix of skills. She picked out the presents, donated them to Helping Hands on Kiss’s behalf, and the charity will do the rest.
Kiss is now closing its offices for a well-earned festive break. We’ll be out of the office between December 18th 2020, and January 4th 2021.
With all that said and done, there’s only one thing left to write: have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New year!
From all the team at Kiss
