National Fitness Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect way to remind yourself (and your staff) of the importance of health, wellness, and fitness.
Having a healthy workforce can make manifest differences to the health of your workforce, including better mental health, fewer sick leave days, and more productivity.
Taking place on the 25th September this year, National Fitness Day “highlights the role physical activity plays across the UK,” raising awareness about its importance in driving us towards healthier, active, lifestyles. And you don’t have to go as crazy our Managing Director, Emma, who runs half marathons! National Fitness Day includes a wide number of activities – everything from yoga and HIIT classes to dance-offs and mass walks. Whatever your fitness levels, there is something you can do to get active and start living a fitter, healthier, life.
It’s also true that National Fitness Day is a great opportunity for team building and brand awareness. This year, the Day’s organisers are running a #Fitness2Me campaign, looking “for the most inspiring #Fitness2Me heroes from the nine English regions and the three nations that make up the UK.” If you and your employees want to take part in this social media campaign, it’s as simple as writing “what fitness means” to you on a piece of paper and posting the image on Facebook, Instagram, and / or Twitter, along with the hashtag #Fitness2Me. This is a free and potentially powerful way to show your potential customers that you value good health and are trying to make a difference.
Another possibility to raise both brand awareness and overall fitness levels at your company in one go is to host an event. This could be anything – does one of your staff members have a background in modern dance, or a black belt in Aikido? Why not ask them to offer a free a class! Or perhaps you could offer a long lunch to anyone who wants to use it on a mass walk? Opening this event up to the public is a free way to publicise the positive impact you’re trying to make on your local community.
If you want to run or host an event, it’s simple to do – just head over to the National Fitness Day’s relevant webpage and follow their instructions (https://www.nationalfitnessday.com/get-involved/)
At Kiss, we’re passionate about keeping the team healthy, happy, and full of fun. Fitness is an important component in achieving that goal, and we recommend it to everyone – even if, for some of us, it just means going for a lunchtime stroll every day.
